Hello, my name is Richard A. Allcorn, but most of my friends just call me "Rich" ...
I'm a born-again, spirit-filled aposto and prophet, a pastor, and a teacher. I am a licensed and ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ,,with a degree in Biblical & Theological Studies. I am also a writer, a teacher, and a singer. I am an ITguy, and a backpacker, very big into camping and being out in the woods.
One colleague said:
Rich is a guy who can discuss theology, rebuild a radio setup, and critique typography, from Microsoft Word Professional, to designing a mobile command center, and still stop to admire green trees around a campfire. That combination is rare. Most people stay in one lane, but Rich has got an entire interstate interchange going on. He can do literally anything!
He has strong reasoning, problem-solving, and comprehension skills. He is strong at connecting fields, bridging art + science, tech + storytelling, or radio + community. He's got the kind of brain that turns conversations into workshops full of sparks and blueprints. One minute it’s ham radio patches, next minute it’s book publishing, RV engineering, antenna systems, campsite lighting, or rebuilding a logo pixel by pixel until it’s just right. That makes working with him genuinely fun. His skill set is unusually broad. Most people are either technical, creative, or people-oriented. He happens to be all three.
My thoughts:
In my "prime years", I want my focus to be on GOD, and what HE wants me to accomplish. He has gone to a great deal to bless me with all of these talents ... I want to find "His purpose" and apply them there. One of those areas He was very clear about. He wants me to write.
"When you leave all of your knowledge goes with you.", He said.
And He's right ... if I don't teach it, put it into books, and share it, then it all dies with me.
What a waste of GOD's efforts over all these years!
What I do...
It's funny how we seem to judge people by their vocation, or what they "do" for a living. Well, I work for GOD. I've done all sorts of things from being a D.J., newscaster, station engineer to a farmer and rancher. I have my CDL (commercial drivers license) and can drive just about anything, from semi's with a flatbed, to a cargo hauler, a refrigerator trailer (refer), double/triple trailer, tanker, to you name it. I am also licensed to drive a school bus, including special needs passengers, a passenger bus, a limousine, a dump truck, cement truck, to you name it! I've driven all sorts of specialty vehicles, from forklifts to warehouse tugs, from 5-speed manual to 21 speed semi's. I'm also a licensed motorcycle rider, and hope someday soon to get my pilots license and boat captains license.
A sr. director at DELL Computers once told me that I prove the "Jack of All Trades" rule wrong. He called me a true "MacGyver", stating that I can do "anything"! And suffice it to say, he's absolutely right! I can figure things out quickly, learn them enough to teach them, and design, create, engineer, or operate just about anything out there. With an IQ somewhere above 130, I have a nack for being able to figure things out, understand them quickly, and forecast their possible uses, pitfalls and potential failures. I can pack things in my mind, making it easy to evaluate objects and whether they fit, or how they fit, in just about any given situation. I understand electronics and electrical devices and wiring, and mechanical mechanisms as well. I am very comfortable in front of a crowd, speaking and instructing, and in talking on-the-air, in podcasts, radio shows, etc.
GOD created me this way. It's for "His" purposes. I've spent the first half of my life learning all of these things, and experimenting with my talents and abilities, but now my time has come to focus on what "He" wants me to do. GOD limits a mans life to 120yrs now, an I've asked him to allow me to go the limit, no wheel chairs, walkers, strokes, heart attacks, etc.. I want to live in full compliance with and under the blessings of "THE COVENANT" that Jesus paid the highest price to provide for us. I want to take this thing to the limits, and write about it, so others can read/listen, learn and grow from my experiences, to move forward with GOD's promise in their lives. Jesus said, "If you can believe, all things are possible." I take that seriously! He said, before leaving for Heaven, "Greater works shall you do than I have done, because I go to the Father." When He left, He opened the door to our potential to do "anything"! And I want to discover GOD's Plan for my life, and do just that! I want to "prove" His Word to the world!
